SETTING UP A GROUP BLOG

Before you can create a blog on a free blogging website www.blogger.com, you need to have a Google account.
  •  If you already have a Google account, you can sign in to create a group blog.
  • If you do NOT have a Google account, please follow the steps below to create a Google account.

1.    Create a Google account.
·         Go to www.google.com or www.google.co.jp
·         Click login.
·         Click Make a new Google account at the top right corner of the web page.
·         Follow the steps to create a new account.

2.    Form your blog group.Write the name of the group members on a piece of paper.
3.    As a group, think of 3 possible blog names.Write them down on a piece of paper.
4.    Now decide on your group blog’s URL (website address). Write them down on a piece of paper.

Now, let us set up your group blogs!
1.    Log into www.blogger.com
2.    Sign into Blogger using your Google ID.
3.    Click Create a Blog.
4.    Create a blog title.
-       Type the blog title in the space.
-       Type the URL you want to use for your blog in the space.
-       Check to see if your chosen title is available.
-       If the title is available, follow the instructions on the screen.
-       If the title is not available, choose another one.

5.    Choose a template for your blog. Look at different options available on the website and decide on the one that all group members like. You can change a template later during the semester if you decide to do so.

6.    Click Design.

7.    Now, click Settings.

A.    BASIC
·         Check the title of your blog.
·         Add your blog to our listings – choose NO
·         Let search engine find your blog – choose NO
·         Don’t change any settings on this page.
·         Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

B.    FORMATTING
·         Change Time Zone to (GMT+09:00) Tokyo.
·         Change Language to ENGLISH.
·         Click Save Settings at the bottom of the page.
